Guyana is a land located on the northern edge of South America and is filled with towering waterfalls, dense rainforests and abundant rivers. On every street can be found brick buildings from colonial times, and Stabroek Market is filled with vendors selling fresh fruits, spices, and colorful handicrafts. Guyana's most famous sight is Kaieteur Falls, a huge waterfall plunging into the heart of a lush jungle. Guyanese cuisine is delicious. For a sweet and savory side, people eat flavorful rice dishes with spicy sauces, fresh fish grilled with vegetables, and fried plantains. Guyanese culture is vibrant. Music fills the air, with drums and other instruments creating a lively beat. People dress in bright colors during festivals and dance in the streets, celebrating their happy and welcoming culture.
